The SKX779, or what's known as the Seiko Black Monster 1st Generation.
The work horse inside the watch is 7S26 Calibre that is the same as the Seiko 5 version. For this reason, there is no manual winding and only automatic winding. But when you start to move, if you put the watch on your arm, it will wind up automatically, so it is not a problem.
The SKX779 is very cheap comparatively. The newer Seiko monsters (2nd and 3rd generations) are upgraded to 4R36 with manual winding & hack, and so the price has also upgraded. But on the other hand, since the designs of the monster series has not change much from generation to generation, the SKX779 seem to worth much more than its actual value.
The Seiko Monster is designed to be a diver watch, so I don't have to worry about getting wet or getting muddy. This is often the case when it is expected to be a sweaty habit in summer. With a rotating bezel guard, you get the impression of a serious diver watch.
The design that looks a little rugged is quite a favourite. Rubber belts are used in the summer, and leather belts are used throughout the year when it cools down.
My next target would be the orange dial monster, I hope to run into one with great condition in the coming months. (╹◡╹)
